Homer District Court is part of Alaska's Third judicial district. Major roads in this area are Sterling highway (SR 1) which branches into East Pioneer avenue and Lake street, then Kacemak drive.
About the area
Homer sits on Kachemak bay and Coal bay and Beluga lake lies within the city limits. The city has a goodly number of parks, many of them are just open areas although the there is a skate park and a couple have picnic shelters and grills. One of the parks, Jack Gist park, has adult softball fields and a disc golf course. Mariner Park located at the base of the Homer Spit is visited by locals and out of towners who bring there campers to this spot. The area is convenient for kite surfing, horseback riding and a stroll on the beach. There are also telescopes for the use of bird watchers. The Pratt museum's main themes are Kachemak Bay: An Exploration of People and Place and The Sea and Its Bounty. THis museum also has a number of outdoor exhibits including Botanical garden, Harrington Cabin, an interpretive trail system with outdoor theater and annual art exhibits, an area completely open to the elements and outdoor performance space with a forest amphitheater.
