Kenai Superior Court

Kenai Superior Court is in the Third judicial district of Alaska. District court hearings including a magistrate judge are also held at this location. Kenai Spur highway, Bridge Access road and Kalifornsky Beac road are the major roads in the Kenai area.

Kenai is located where the Kenai river and Cook inlet meet. Although fisherman come to the river for the famous King Salmon; oil, natural gas, commercial fishing and tourism contribute significantly to the local economy. The Russian influence here can be seen throughout the community by the Russian style architecture of many of the structures. The Russian influence as well as as the later American history of the area can be seen at the Kenai Visitors and Cultural center. On display here are a vast collection of indigenous artifacts and native art as well as a collection of animal and fish mounts. The local Saturday market held on the lawn of this center from Memorial Day Through Labor Day features the work of local artists. The Kenai Wildlife Viewing area and the Kenai Flats State Recreation area lie just to the South of the city. The annual Kenai Peninsula fair held on the fairgrounds at Ninilchik in mid August features live entertainment including music and a rodeo.
