About the area

There is a significant timber industry in this city supported by the surrounding pine forests which also provide a playground for the southern sportsman. Approximately 8,500 residents live within the city limits who find employment in local government, the county board of education, and legal and other professional offices, which support the county government. There is talk of plans by a group of Chinese investors to build a large-scale hybrid automobile manufacturing plant north of Bay Minette. The Bay Minette Municipal Pool Complex is an extreme water park with several exciting slides and is open to the public with a membership fee.
