About the area

The city lies along Mobile Bay. A group of settlers came together in this area in the 1890's to form the city of Fairhope. Much of the history of the town can be seen in exhibits at theFairhope Museum of History. There are depictions representative of Fairhope’s Founders, the Volunteer Fire Department, the Mayors of Fairhope, Cottages & Bungalows, People’s railroad, local Native Americans, the Town Jail and Fairhope’s African-American history.
