About the area
With a land area of over 15 square miles; Oneonta's more than 7,000 residents have plenty of room to spread out. Palisades Park is a wonderful place to visit while you are in Oneonta. There are two pioneer cabins and a schoolhouse on the site. The park's Inspiration Point is the place to overlook eastern Blount County into St. Clair County There is also an Arboretum, nature trails and pavilions located here. For those who aspire to new heights; rock climbing and rappelling are a popular activity in the park.
