Anniston Municipal Court

This moderately large city has some great roads which motorists can use for intra-city and inter-city travel such US 431 and SR's 21, 46 and 202.

Establishment of the Woodstock Iron Company in the early 1870's was responsible for jump starting the city of Anniston. The company opened a company store and a farm was operated to provide food and dairy products. With the streets laid out, churches and schools soon followed and this planned, closed community was on its way. In the 1880's enterprising citizens created a second major industry when the manufacture of cotton textiles was added. In the 1940's the city contributed to the war effort with operation of the Anniston Ordinance Depot and outgrowth of adjoining Fort McClellan. The city has two wonderful museums; the Anniston Museum of Natural History and the Berman Museum of World History. Both of these museums provide programs for children and great exhibits for young and old alike.
