Not until the latter part of the 19th century was the city incoporated. From this period there now remains three historic districts with ante-bellum and Victorian-era buildings. Colonial Revival and Late Gothic Revival homes are the pride of the citizens who own them. Residents of the city and others who visit can enjoy the beauty of Pickwick Lake along the Tennessee river from Sheffield's Riverfront Park. The park has boat launches, fishing pier, docking facilities, walking trails, and a playground that is handicap accessible for all children to enjoy. |
