About the area |
Tuscumbia is the county seat of Colbert County and its location places it at the hub of the Tennessee River Valley. The Alabama Music Hall of Fame pays homage to the musical accomplishments of Alabama natives who performed opera, rhythm and blues, rock and roll, country and western music. Those who have seen "The Miracle Worker" or know her story will want to visit her birthplace in Tuscumbia known as Ivy Green where the drama is presented each summer. The Tuscumbia depot built by the Memphis & Charleston Railroad as a division headquarters has been restored as a depot and museum. The Spring Creek Golf course and the Tennessee Valley Country club are located next to each other in the Southern section of Tuscumbia Spring Creek is apublic 18 hole course offering play at a super low greens fee. The 9 hole Tennessee Valley course features just over 6000 yards of golf. |
