The major roads skirt the edges of Andalusia rather than intruding on the interior of the city. At various edges of the city US 29, US 84 and SR 100 run together. Although SR 15 and SR 55 run into the city.

About the area

It is generally believed that the city was named after the Andalusian Province in Spain with the Spanish influence resulting from the visits to the area of Spanish explorers Ponce de Leon and DeSoto. This rather large city has close to 9000 residents who occupy an area about 19 square miles in size. The city is the site of the Annual Southern States Open Martial Arts Championships in early October. Competitions are held in Black belt and Under belt divisions for Tae Kwon Do, Hap Ki Do, Kung Fu, Karate & other martial arts.
