About the area |
Stevenson lies along the Northern edge of Crow Creek which is part of the Tennessee river. Stevenson Municipal Park, a large park on the river has a bboat ramp for fishing activity. The Stevenson Railroad Depot Museum contains many exhibits detailing the history of Stevenson and its role in the Civil War. The depot is the site each year of the Stevenson Depot Days Festival. This is an old-fashioned festival that celebrates the city's railroad heritage. Featured in this festival are the parades, ice creme social, pioneer breakfast, street dance, story telling, clogging, museum tours, and period entertainment. And where else can you find Pro Lawnmower Racing and an Alabama Bug Jam?
