Huntsville is a large city and as such it has many venues, as it must to provide for the recreational needs of its citizens. There are 12 recreation facilities, most with gymnasiums and there are three acquatic center, all with heated and enclosed pools and one has a roof that can be rolled back on sunny days. In addition there is the Merrimack Soccer Complex with ten fields, seven of which are lighted; and the Metro Kiwanis SportsPlex with softball fields, covered pavilions and raised spectator seating.
