About the area |
Demopolis is located near where the Tombigbee and Black Warrior Rivers meet. Foscue Creek campground, a park built by the Corp of Engineers and open year round, has over 50 sites and is located to the West of the city. Most of these include electrical and water hookups and sewage at a limited number of sites. Each site also has a picnic table, lantern holder, and fire ring with grill. The camp ground provides a dump station, coin laundry, hot showers, pay phone, playground, boat ramp and hiking trail. For anglers Demopolis Lake, which extends about 50 miles upriver on the Black Warrior and Tombigbee rivers, is a great place to go. This lake covers close to 10,000 acres.
