About the area |
Certainly people have heard of Nelle Harper Lee, Truman Capote, Mike Stewart, Cynthia Tucker and Mark Childress. These famous authors all came from Monroeville. In rememberance of Harper Lee's birth here; annual productions of âTo Kill A Mockingbirdâ are held in April and May at the Monroe County Heritage Museum and Courthouse. Local citizens step up to perform as cast members in the performances.Many golfers come to Monroeville to experience the challenge of the Vanity Fair course at the Vanity Fair Golf & Tennis Club located in the Eastern part of town. The course has 18 holes of challenging fairways over close to 65oo yards. |
