About the area |
A building which once served as both church and Masonic Lodge; after being moved twice finally ending up in the historic district of the city, has been restored and currently houses the Mattie Lou Teague Crow Museum. This historic building has displays exhibiting artifacts and memorabilia relating to history of people of St. Clair and surrounding counties. The John W. Inzer Museum was originally erected as a Greek Revival home. The construction of this building is unique; the walls are sixteen-inches thick of stacked brick, from the ground up with red bricks fired on the grounds. Visitors will find that many of the original furnishings are still in the home. The museum is the repository of documents and articles assembled by a resident who was a Confederate Officer, a State Senator and a District Judge.
