Double Springs which is located within the borders of the William Bankhead National Forest was incorporated as late as the 1940's. The first Saturday of each June is the time for the Frontier Days festival to celebrate Double Springs' early history. This event includes arts and crafts, live music, food, a horseshoe competition, a Moon Pie eating contest, rides, and a rodeo parade. By all means wear whatever period dress you have; its part of the fun.
