Mountain Home District Court

Mountain Home District Court is one of the state district courts in Baxter county. Major roads here are US 62, US 62 Business, SR 5, SR 178 and SR 201. Traffic violations and city ordinances for the town of Salesville (SR 5) as well as other areas lacking a district court in this county are heard in this court.

There are two anxiously awaited events taking place in this city. The Autumn in the Ozarks Quilt Show, sponsored by the Hill ‘N Hollow Quilters Guild, is held every two years at the Educational building on the Baxter County fairgrounds. Usually more than 300 quilts are on display and there is a country store, lots of vendors, demonstrations, door prizes and snacks and lunch are available. The North Arkansas Woodcarvers sponsor their Annual Woodcarving Show and Sale at the beginning of May. It is also held at the Baxter County fairgrounds. The show has all kinds of woodworkers from woodcarvers to whittlers to wood turners. If this is your thing as a hobby, you can find carving supply vendors at this show. There is also a judged competition, demonstrations and a carving contest which are open to beginners and professional.
