About the area

Pioneer Village in Rison has gathered together a number of structures, many of which are on the National Register of Historic Buildings, to recreate a village of the 1880's. Among the buildings are a doctor's home, country mercantile, two log cabins, blacksmith shop, barn, Methodist Episcopal Church South and post office. The village is the site of the annual Pioneer Crafts festival.
