Van Buren District Court

Van Buren District Court is one of the state district courts in Crawford county. You will find IS 540, IS 40, US 64, US 71, SR 59 and SR 162 running through Van Buren. Plenty of roads to use.

Many of the buildings on Main street are of the Victorian period and have recently been restored to create an historic district. You can find a rugged one room school in a landscaped garden setting placed in Van Buren’s public square. Visitors to Van Buren have two museums they can visit. The museum in the Old Frisco Train station has memorabilia and artifacts of the area's history and the railroad. You can board the scenic excursion train leaving from this station and operated by the Arkansas & Missouri railroad. If you do; you you can ride in restored antique passenger cars, a first-class parlor car or the 1940's Caboose, Lil' Toot as the train winds through the river valleys, traverses high trestles and cuts into a quarter-mile tunnel while fun-loving conductors regale you with anecdotes about the area’s rich history. The Bob Burns museum displays a collection of pictures and memorabilia that celebrate the famous radio star of the 1930's and 1940's who grew up in Van Buren, Bob "Bazooka" Burns who was also known as "The Arkansas Traveler". His program entertained troops during World War II and he invented the unique, homemade musical instrument he called "The Bazooka" the original one of which can be seen in the museum.
