| About the area |
The Hot Spring County museum actually consists of three buildings each of which house artifacts and furnishings representative of the history of the area. The Boyle House museum, circa 1891, is the original museum building. The Hughes House, circa 1876, is a two room cabin with a dog run which was moved to the museum grounds from the Tigre area in Hot Spring County. The Gibbs Cabin, circa 1868, is a restored one room log cabin which was originally located on Walco Road and part of the Arkansas Department of Corrections, Ouachita River Unit. The annual Hot Spring County fair and rodeo is a week long affair in early September held at the Hot Spring County fairgrounds in Malvern. The fair has livestock exhibits, plenty of food, games, and the ever exciting events of the rodeo. |
