The P.D. Burton House built around 1916 in the Craftsman style is one of the few still standing from that era. It is a perfect example of Craftsman architecture. with its strong horizontal and vertical lines in the window designs, porch supports and the symmetricality of its massing. The owner was from a family of early settlers to Lewisville. His father settled in Old Lewisville after the Civil War and began purchasing land. His sons accumulated more land and invested in a sawmill, general stores and banks in Lewisville and the surrounding area. |
