Nearby Mississippi River State park is primarily located on the Bear Creek Lake Recreation area. Within the park you will find campgrounds, an area for use over two days, a swim beach, a group use area, for boaters the boat ramp at Bear Creek lake and for those of you who like to hike there is the Bear Creek Lake Nature trail. The park is a work in progress and when it is completed will cover close to 550 acres of the St. Francis National forest.
