| About the area |
The Two Rivers museum is located in a renovated 100 hundred year old storefront, which housed a pharmacy and an antique store, and has a variety of and sometimes morbid exhibits. They include a horse-drawn hearse, a portable wooden embalming table and World War I and World War II uniforms. Another exhibit honors the late Henry Kaufman, an immigrant of German-Jewish descent who was the founder of the Kaufman Seeds company in town. Displays also depict the hard life of the early residents of Ashdown. There are also hundreds of pictures which tell the story of farmers and cotton pickers to lawyers, hoteliers and railroad men who live in the area; and an old wooden post office. |
