Texarkana, Texas was the first part of this double city to be established around 1873 with the Arkansas city following approximately 7 years later. The Tex-Arkansas Antique Auto museum lies right on the street between Texas and Arkansas. The museum exhibits,operates and interprets a collection of automobiles, auto transportation equipment, historical artifacts, documents, and photographs. The collection of artifacts includes archival materials and objects related to autos and automotive history. The Draughon/Moore Ace of Clubs House is an Italianate Victorian style building built around 1885., One of its main features is its floor plan which was supposedly inspired by the lucky card in its name, the ace of clubs. The rooms are arranged around a central octagon. After ten years the home was sold to and stayed in by the same family for almost 100 years. Around 1985 it became a museum. |
