Manila District Court

Manila District Court is one of the state district courts in the Chickasawba District of Mississippi county. The major roads available to drivers in Manila are SR 18, SR 18 Buisiness and SR 77.

Manila, which was originally known as Cinda, is located on the banks of the Big Lake Wildlife Management area and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Management area and has its own municipal airport. This area of over 12,000 acres consists primarily of typical bottomland forest, such as tupelo, willow, buttonbush and cypress and is a wintering habitat for ducks and other non game migratory birds. There is game in the area for hunters such as turkeys, waterfowl, deer, quail, rabbits/ squirrel and crows. The Manila Depot museum is housed in the original structure of Manila's train depot building which is about 100 years old and is on the National Register of Historic Places. The depot was originally built by the Jonesboro, Lake City and Eastern railroad and later operated on the Blytheville subdivision of the Frisco railroad line. The museum has many artifacts on display which are a representation of the history of the area and an art gallery.
