Guadalupe is named after the virgin Mexican Saint. The town was founded by the Yaqui Indians and still you find several traces left by them including the ancient church, worshipping stone and much more. The Indian trails are full of sites of religious value. This should tell you that it is a historic city and there is lot to learn through exploration. It can be a nice change from the arid mountain regions. |
