About the area |
The El Dorado Museum gives you an insight of how Placerville has grown into a city that it is today. It flourished through tourism and development during the gold rush period in California. Placerville before that was the primary prison where many criminals were hanged and hat is why till today it is called the âOld Hangtownâ. These kind of historic facts that are interesting can be found in the museum. Today there may be no gold in this city but there are plenty of places to wine and dine. Several wineries run restaurants that serve eclectic food along with wine from their vineyard or Backyard! There's a big park east of here named El Dorado. Might be a national park or national forest or something. |
