Salinas is an extremely posh city in the valley and Monterey Bay. Although being an extremely posh and rich locale the city has been popular for its notorious gangs that create havoc now and then. The most popular attraction here is the Salinas State River Park and the beautiful sunsets to see here. The city enjoys the conveyor belt climate and the weather is perfect or close to perfect though out the year. It is just 8 miles from the Pacific coast making it an ideal place to live if not for the soaring real estate prices. Rich city means rich sports, and there are many state of the art golf courses in the city adjoining the parks. The Central park and the El Dorado Park are nice for picnics. The city is also home to the noble prize winner John Steinbeck (maybe that's Nobel) and there is a memorial museum which has some interesting facts and work of his.
