Porterville is the neighboring city for Visalia and both the cities are dotted with many parks and recreational areas. There are several small lakes and ponds with hiking trails. This is an ideal place to spend your long weekends and have a quite family getaway. Most of the places in the United States you go to can get crowded during long weekends and for people who carve the quiet and peace, this place could be a ideal get away. Food and wine are also great here! Porterville is on the way to both Lake Success and also to Sequoia National Park. We're not really sure if you want to stop here on the way or not.
