About the area |
The Sand Creek Massacre was a gory incident in history that took place on November 29 of 1864. Nearly 650 people attacked two small villages of Arapahoe and Cheyenne Indians. Several of them including women and children died in that event. The last heard of these people dissipated in the sounds of muskets, artillery and gun fire. You can hear the commentary and spend some time in history in this park. |
