About the area

The Jackson Reservoir was built in the 1900’s and was primarily made for hunting. Many animals including birds would come here for water when the South Platte River runs a bit dry and plunges in depth. However today it is juts attracts water sports enthusiasts and fishers. Bird hunting as been banned because of the special and endangered migratory birds that come here. Some of the best trout live here and they are vital for attracting fish and fishers.
