About the area
Three miles towards the west of Lamar is the Santa Fe trails. Even though nobody walks all the way to Santa Fe like the Shawnee Indians you can walk a bit of it and decide to camp in later. It is worth the walk, as it is scenic and also refreshing. Also the park that hosts the visitors of the trail has great facilities and amenities.
