About the area |
Derby is a small city, both in population and square footage. Home to the once-famous and now extinct Charlton Comics, plus a good high school football team. Apparently the name has nothing to do with horses and the area does not even have a race course. Maybe there is a hat thing involved. Derby is not a very prominent city and the only thing to talk about here is the small Metro rail station. It does have an Opera House which right now is serving as a Police Station (Probably a police station is more needed than an Opera house). The area is heavily forested and also has a 350 acre park which offers, fishing, hiking and other recreational activities. Some nice parks, rivers, and all that. The African American community has not made significant efforts to change the name of Coon Hollow Park. |
