About the area |
Titusville was founded in 1867 by a former army officer from the "wrong" side of the Civil War. Was his name Titus? It was originally known as Sand Point - probably a lot of sand somewhere around here. It is the governmental seat of Brevard county. The courthouse was built before World War One. Titusville lies across the Indian River from the John F. Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral. |
