About the area |
Wauchula was established in 1886 when the Florida Southern Railway extended south and built a depot in the area and around the area banks and stores opened quickly. Wauchula grew as a result of the phosphate boom, the endless citrus groves, and the roving cattle. If you can't find anything to do here; the town is only an hour from everywhere, cosmopolitan Tampa, the white sand beaches of the Gulf Coast, the magic of Orlando, and the adventure of Lake Okeechobee or the Everglades beyond.
