About the area

Sanford is located at the southern end of Lake Monroe; a lake 17.1 square miles in area. It is the southern terminus of Amtrak's Auto Train which each year conveys visitors, snowbirds and their cars to Florida. Seminole County Community college is located in Sanford and the area was once the site of celery farms. Sanford is to the Northeast of Orlando and the Orlando Sanford International airport is located a few miles to the south.
