About the area
Monticello is most famous for the lynch mob who were responsible fr hanging a whole family of African Americans and then shot. It happened way back in 1915 and the incident is still remembered. Otherwise the city is beautiful and the streets are lined with dogwood trees. The city has also been recorded in the national registry of historic places.
