When you visit the Sapelo Island you find old ruins of a Spanish Fort. This is juts not one island here and there several more like the Harris Neck National wildlife refugee island, Black Beard Island and the Wolf Island which is also for wildlife, and the Fort George area. Only animals live on these islands and they are purely for conservation.
