Conyers has a rich historical back ground in Georgia and dates ten thousand years old. A group called Mound Builders were one of the community that visited this scenic place and later the Cherokee and the Indians also came here for settlements. The Salem Baptist Church still performs baptisms in the sparkling waters of the old millpond.
