Allison District Court may also be known by the folks around here as the district court of Butler county in the Second judicial district of Iowa. Go easy on the accelerator as you travel through Butler county on
SR 3, SR 14, SR 57 and SR 188. |
| About the area |
The Iowa Stock Farm owned most of the land around here until around 1875 when five entrepreneurs bought a good portion of it. What started out to be the Iowan and Pacific railroad laid track through the town which was taken over by the Dubuque and Dakota railroad which ran its first train through Allison in the Summer of 1879. At which time one of the new owners of the land laid out and recorded the town at the Butler County Courthouse. The Allison Municipal Swimming pool, Wilder park and City park are three nice places to cool off and relax. While you are here catch a glimpse of the mural painted by a local artist on the corner of North Main and Third street. |
