Sidney District Court is formally known as Fremont District Court and is located in the Fourth judicial district of Iowa. IS 29 runs in the Western area of the county and along the way meets with US 275 and SR 2. US 59 runs down the Eastern border of the county. |
| About the area |
Originally known as Dayton, the town was surveyed and laid out around 1851 on land owned by the first judge to live in the area. With the Sidney Iowa Championship Rodeo considered to be the world's largest continuous outdoor rodeo; the town has been dubbed "Rodeo Town USA". The Fremont County Historical Society museum has exhibits of carriages, farm equipment, antique bedroom sets and dishes. In the front lobby you will find a prehistoric display with Indian and pioneer rooms next to it in addition to which rooms have been furnished to replicate an old-time kitchen, bedroom, parlor and general store. |
