This city, founded around 1866, bills itself as "Iowa's Year 'Round Playground". There area variety of entertainment possibilities in this city. You can plan on attending the live variety show with local professional talent and a special guest artist at the Cresco Opera House. There is the Vintage Tractor Show and the Annual Classic Tractor Day with food and beverages which is the kick-off the Harvest Fest weekend in September. Throughout the county there are Czech Days in Protivin and Sweet Corn Days in Lime Springs both in August. In early August, Cresco holds its Annual Cresco Area Fine Arts show at Beadle park where artists display and sell their work accompanied by live music throughout the day. Be sure to grab some food along with the wine tastings.
