Primghar District Court is formally known as the O'Brien District Court in the Third judicial district of Iowa. Oh the roads you will travel in O'Brien county; US 18, US 59, SR 10 and SR 60. |
| About the area |
As you might well imagine O'Brien county was named after someone who was Irish, but this erson was one of the leaders of the Irish Independence in 1848. The county seat was originally located in Waterman Township but was relocated to Primghar which was named using the first letters of the first names of significant county officials and the surveyors of the town. Attempts were made by other towns to secure the county seat but Primghar prevailed. Today the town is primarily an agricultural one. The annual O'Brien County fair is held in mid July in this city. |
