| About the area |
Sac City was laid out around 1855 by a gentleman from Fort Dodge, Iowa and was named for Sauk and Fox Indians who occupied the land prior to the Louisiana Purchase. There are many Victorian homes here which date back to the years 1888 to 1901. The city of Sac tries to provide for the recreational needs of citizens with a new Sac City Aquatic center and playgrounds, tennis courts and a community recreation center with swimming, basketball, racquetball, aerobics, and volleyball, baseball and softball fields, a 9 hole golf course, hiking trails and picnic areas. |
