To the residents of Hailey, the Hailey District Court is probably known as the district court of Blaine county. It shares the building with the magistrate court of Blaine county (Phone No. 208-788-5521) and they are both in the Fifth judicial district of Idaho. The major roads which run through Blaine county are US 20, US 26, US 93 and SR 75. |
About the area |
Blaine county was formed around 1895 over 70 years after it was first explored. It was named for the Secretary of State under President Benjamin Harrison. At its two centers in Ketchum and Blaine, the Sun Valley Center for the Arts produces a series of plays from July through February. Each year during the first weekend in August the city of Hailey puts on its Northern Rockies Arts and Crafts Fair on Main street. At the same time the Northern Rockies Folk festival, Kiwanis Car show and the Horse show at the Hailey Rodeo arena take place. In October, the Trailing of the Sheep festival takes place in Hailey and Ketchum. This great Folklife Fair event has cooking with lamb and fiber workshops, demonstrations, music, dancers, displays, activities, artisans and shops, a fiber fest, music and a lamb feast. |
