Horseshoe Bend Magistrate Court

Horseshoe Bend Magistrarte Court is an annex of the Boise county magistrate court in Idaho City and meets only on the third Tuesday of each month. SR 21, SR 52 and SR 55 are the major roads in Boise county.

Horseshoe Bend is so called because it lies at a horseshoe shaped bend in the Payette river. The own host three supper events each year. Its annual banjo festival festival on the first weekend on Memorial Day weekend at City park finds different musical groups playing everything from bluegrass standards to line dancing swing tunes. The banjo competition at Horseshoe Bend's community hall completes the event. The the national Senior Pro Rodeo is held here each June. in June. The city's Fall festival in October is loaded with arts and crafts, pumpkin patches and corn mazes. A favorite attraction for visitors to this town is the Thunder Mountain Line scenic train ride. One of its stops is at the Thunder Mountain Mining company in Banks where you can sift for mineral treasures. The Haunting on Madison avenue, on Highway 55 is one man's idea of a haunted house. It is open in the month before Halloween and is intended to scare the bravest of souls.
