Orofino District Court is formally known as the Clearwater County District Court and is in the Second judicial district of Idaho. The Clearwater county magistrate court is also located in this building. US 12, SR 7 and SR 11 run through Clearwater county. |

Much of Clearwater county is occupied by mountain ranges. The county was formed from part of Nez Perce county around 1911 by act of the Idaho state legislature. The city of Orofino came into existence with the discovery of gold in the area around 1850. Clearwater river is known to have some great fishing. On Dworshak lake you have the opportunity for boating, jet skiing, hiking on the trails surrounding the lake or using one of the camp sites along its banks. In September this city celebrates the timber industry and the lumberjacks who worked in it with its Lumberjack Days. Competitors take part in such events as the Birling, Horizontal chop, and Axe throwing. |
