Rigby District Court

Rigby District Court might otherwise be called the district court of Jefferson county. The magistrate court meets in the same building as this court on Mondays and Thursdays of each month. These courts are in Idaho's Seventh judicial district. US 20 and SR 48 meet in Rigby. IS 15, SR 28 and SR 33 are other major roads that run through Jefferson County while SR 22 cuts through the extreme corner of the county.

Formed in the second decade of the 20th century, the county was named after president Thomas Jefferson. Although agriculture and food processing are the significant part of the economy of the county; the government and trade sectors are the largest employers. The Jefferson County Historical museum has on exhibit displays related to such diverse subject as the pre-electric and early electric era, the history of Jefferson County, early photography, the inventor of television Philo T. Farnsworth, Indian artifacts, ancient Egyption artifacts from biblical days and animal trophies. The county holds its annual fair in Rigby in August. The fair includes a rodeo, 4H, Future Farmers of America and open class livestock exhibits and shows
