Lewiston District Court

Lewiston District Court is Nez Perce county's district court and is in the Second judicial district of Idaho. Located in the same building as this court is the Magistrate court of Nez Perce county. US 12, US 95 and SR 3 are the major roads in Nez Perce county.

Although it came into being in the Winter of 1864 by authority of the Idaho Territorial Legislature; it was originally one of the counties in the Washington territory. It took its name from the Indians who were the occupants of the area. Lewiston is home to Lewis-Clark college which grants bachelors degrees, associate degrees and academic certificates. The college's tennis courts are the site of a game not played in many places, Pickleball. A big annual event here is the nation’s Largest Steelhead derby, the Kendall Chevrolet Clearwater Snake Steelhead derby held Thanksgiving week. The event starts at the Kendall Chevrolet showroom with music, entertainment, raffles, giveaways, dinner and drinks. Best of luck to the best anglers. The number of parks in this city is astounding, 21 in all. The city also has two municipal pools, Bert Lipps in Fenton park and Orchards.
