About the area

With an extensive and impressive racial makeup, this land was established back in the 1830s refreshed by the clear waters of the Lake Michigan. This corner of Illinois State and neighbor of Kane, McHenry, Lake, and DuPage Counties was named after Daniel Cook; former state politician born in Scott County, who served as a DA and also as a US Representative.
