About the area |
Settlement here dates to 1786 and today there are about 45,000 people here. The original plans came from Thomas Jefferson and the city is named for him and locally it is referred to as Jeff. Growth here is attributed to the steamboat industry in the 1800's. The Howard Steamboat Museum and Mansion is worth a visit. I 85 connects this city to Louisville, Kentucky across the Ohio River. |
